Three St. Bernards

Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine Collection, Columbus, OH

Capturing the gentle strength, loyalty, and imposing presence of the beloved breed, this magnificent life-size bronze St. Bernard sculpture stands as a tribute to the enduring bond between humans and their canine companions. The intricate detailing of the three dogs highlights the warmth and character of the breed, making it a fitting centerpiece for an institution dedicated to animal care, healing, and veterinary excellence.

The piece was originally commissioned as a major public art installation for the Ohio State University campus. As highlighted in a local feature covering Pam Foss's studio work, this expansive project was completed in 2016 and permanently installed in a courtyard adjacent to OSU's new Veterinary Center. Today, the three life-size bronzes welcome students, faculty, and visitors to the Columbus, OH campus, standing proudly as one of the latest additions to the major public sculptures Foss has on display throughout the United States.
